Spectral Garden / Privacy

Privacy policy

Spectral Garden is an independently operated software studio by Raven in Seattle, Washington. This policy describes the information handled by spectralgarden.net and the Spectral Garden applications linked below. The practices differ by product; the relevant details are grouped by service.

Spectral Garden website

The main site does not require an account. When you submit a score in Astral's End, your chosen nickname and score are sent to Flame Finder. Only the current top five scores are retained and displayed on the public leaderboard. Audio preferences remain in your browser's local storage. The site loads its Three.js library from cdnjs; when your browser requests that library, the CDN may receive standard connection information such as your IP address and browser details.

Spectral Atlas

Atlas saves chart profiles (which can include birth date, time, and place), favorites, relocation targets, calculation settings, and the privacy-notice preference in local storage in your browser. Atlas sign-in uses temporary session storage for its single sign-on flow and token. Atlas does not send saved chart profiles to the Flame Finder account database.

When you use city search or address lookup, the search term and standard connection information are sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. When the map is displayed, your browser requests tiles from the selected map provider, which may include Esri or OpenStreetMap. Those providers receive standard request information, including your IP address and the map areas requested, and handle it under their own privacy terms. Atlas may also contact Flame Finder if you choose its member sign-in option.

Flame Finder

Public chart calculations can run in your browser without an account. If you create or use an account, the service processes account identifiers, email address, age and profile details, chart information, preferences, forum posts and replies, and member interactions to provide registration, sign-in, account recovery, chart, community, security, and moderation features. Exact birth date, local time, selected birth city, city-center coordinates, and time zone are private account chart data and are not shown on member profiles. Flame Finder city suggestions and astronomical calculations run in the browser using bundled data and do not send birth-place searches to a geocoding provider. New member discussions, replies (including replies to developer updates), and polls are held for moderator review before public publication; moderator-created content may be published directly, and existing approved forum content remains public. New or edited member profiles are hidden from member discovery until approved, while accounts and private chats remain available during review. Private chats are not part of the public-content review queue and moderators do not have a general transcript browser. Moderators can temporarily suspend or permanently ban accounts for policy violations, and the service records the reason and time of these account actions. Approved forum posts and replies may be read without an account.

Flame Finder uses an essential first-party sign-in cookie to authenticate account sessions. The cookie is HttpOnly, Secure when served over HTTPS, SameSite=Strict, and expires after up to 30 days. The service processes request IP addresses in memory for temporary rate limiting and abuse prevention; hosting providers may separately process or retain connection information in infrastructure or security logs. A password-recovery email provider processes information needed when you request a password reset. Signing out clears the sign-in cookie. Contact us at raven@spectralgarden.net to ask about access, correction, or deletion of account information.

Akashic Tarot reference

The reference's search, category filters, and random-card control run in your browser. The app does not request account information or transmit search terms to a Spectral Garden account service. Its hosting provider may process standard connection information to deliver the page.

Browser storage and third-party services

Storage described above supports the features you choose to use. You can remove local or session storage and cookies through your browser settings; doing so may clear saved app data or sign you out. Map, geocoding, content delivery, hosting, and password-recovery providers may process technical or service data when your browser or an application contacts them. Their own privacy terms apply to their services.
